Into the Woods

September 26 & 27

The first act follows familiar fairy tale characters pursuing their dreams: Cinderella wishes to attend the king’s festival, Jack hopes to save his family’s farm, Little Red Riding Hood travels through the woods to visit her grandmother, and a Baker and his Wife desperately want a child. A Witch reveals that the Baker’s family was cursed years ago and tells the couple they can break the spell by finding four magical items within three days. As all of the characters journey into the woods, their stories overlap in unexpected ways. By the end of Act I, many wishes appear to come true.

Act II explores what happens after “happily ever after.” The characters discover that achieving their wishes does not solve all their problems, and their actions have unintended consequences. When a vengeful Giant threatens the kingdom, the surviving characters must confront loss, responsibility, and the impact they have on one another. The musical ultimately suggests that while life is messy and uncertain, people are stronger when they face challenges together.
